DA '09:  Beyond The DA Models

On May 5th & 6th, 2009, The PELORUS Group will convene its 16th annual DA forum.  This special conference will focus on defining new strategies to not only sustain current DA operations, but to generate new directions for future revenue growth.  We believe our industry is on the cusp of a major paradigm shift.  These two days will be dedicated to spelling out how DA organizations can benefit from that change and provide an exclusive forum unparalleled in networking opportunities.  Entitled "DA ‘09", the conference will convene in historic Raleigh, North Carolina at the Sheraton Raleigh Hotel.  Close to 200 attendees and speakers are anticipated for the longest-running independent directory assistance and operator services forum in our industry

  • In operator services call center operations, what are the newest developments in areas of configuration, span of control, awards and recognition, benefits, wages, and management metrics?

  • What will be the impact of the economic crisis on the directory assistance and operator services arenas?

  • What are the best methods for generating new services and revenues from operator services organizations?

  • What solutions can we expect over the next few years that will help operator services managers perform their functions?

  • How can wireline DA providers compete more effectively with internet-based directories?

  • How can operator services and DA providers generate multi-stream revenue for DA and information services from a cross-technology, a cross-media, and cross-partner view?

  • What is in store for non-DA operator services?  What new technologies and capabilities are coming to the fore to specifically address them?

  • What are the newest developments in the networking/transporting of calls, and call center technology in particular?

  • What is the long range impact for Free DA and advertiser paid models?

  • How is the growing mix of alternatives in local search affecting DA?

  • What is the outlook for mobile search, and what is its impact to traditional DA providers?

  • How are carriers moving forward with DA offerings?

  • What are the handset manufacturers doing, and how will that affect the DA experience?

  • How are the short-term and long-term revenue models and associated technologies for DA and related information services changing?

  • Making money from core operator services for smaller telcos is harder than ever.  Where are the new sources of revenue to come from?

  • How will new wireless information services impact today’s DA model?

  • From where are the competitive opportunities in the wholesale business emerging?

  • How are operator services contact centers changing, and where is this evolution headed?  Meanwhile, the move to consolidate operator services centers continues. What does this mean for managers in terms of operations and job functionality?

  • What are the key market influencers that can be expected to emerge over the next 24 months?  What will prove to be the lasting revenue enhancers in both the wireless and wireline fronts?

  • How must the revenue/cost model of service providers shift as enhanced services begin to dominate DA calling?

  • How quickly will the market for automated and hosted DA services trend upward?

  • Data and data content are the life’s blood of the DA market.  Licensing of data listings to service providers continues to be a robust business.  But just as there are opportunities, so too are there issues such as data quality, data aggregation and privacy.  What do service providers need to know before they embrace a source?

  • What is happening in the Canadian operator services and DA theaters?

  • What are the hottest developments in speech-enabled services, and from where are they coming?
