Among the issues slated to be addressed: · Who
is best positioned to capitalize on mobile local search? The search
engines? The mobile carriers? The handset manufacturers?
Internet Yellow Pages? Others? · What
is the revenue potential associated with mobile local search over each of
the next five years? · How
will the demographics play out in terms of key consumer adoption rates? · How
fast will mobile local search roll out in the U.S.? What about for
different regions around the world? · What
impact will the Apple iPhone levy? What about the much rumored
Google GPhone? · What
limitations will be caused by inherent network reliability issues? · MoLo
can substantially leverage search engine companies advertising revenues.
How aggressive will Google, Yahoo!, MSN, Ask.com, et al, be in pursuing
this opportunity? · Will
alliances like that recently announced between Sprint Nextel and Microsoft
become more commonplace? · The
user experience will be paramount to the rate of acceptance, and to its
breadth as well. What are key players doing to ensure the overall
user experience will prove rich and inviting? · What
challenge will new mobile directory services being launched by search
engines prove to be to traditional directory assistance providers? · How
will mobile local search ad models play out? What forms will ads
actually assume on cell phones? What types of mobile ads will
consumers be open to? What types are destined to fail? · How
is the consumer relationship with cell phones likely to change? · Voice-enabled
mobile search - When, where, and who is leading the way? · What
do organizations need to consider when optimizing mobile Web pages? · Is
there merit in companies building separate mobile Websites from their main
Websites? · How
will social networking fit into the picture as MoLo spreads? |

Raritan, NJ - For some time now, the industry at large has studied the promise of mobile local search with guarded optimism. To date, the pace has been slow. The PELORUS Group believes that is about to dramatically change. We believe 2008 will prove to be a milestone year as mobile local search comes into its own. Mobile carriers, handset manufacturers, search engines, on line directories, content providers, ad agencies, retailers, and the consumers themselves - the pieces have been all there, but the eco-system until now has been nothing more than a fragmented jigsaw with disparate pieces not quite fitting together. Now, the pieces are starting to fall into place. |

On February 20 and 21, at the scenic Albuquerque Marriott,
overlooking the Sandia Mountains, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, The
PELORUS Group will convene "Mobile Local Search '08",
its first conference wholly dedicated to the mobile local search
phenomenon. We believe our industry is on the verge of a major
paradigm shift, and these two days will be dedicated to exploring how,
where, and by what timetable mobile local search will develop.
